AADHAAR Card Update Documents Requirement

UIDAI accepts several "Proof of Identity", "Proof of Address" and "Proof of Date of Birth" documents for AADHAAR card change requests. Below you will find a nationally valid list of supported documents. Please note, you only need to send document for which you intend to make changes.
Depending upon the AADHAAR card change request, a self attested supporting document will needed.
  • To change Name in AADAAR card a Proof of Identity document is required.
  • To change Address in AADAAR card a Proof of Address document is required.
  • To change Date of Birth in AADAAR card a Proof of Date of Birth document is required.
Your name must be clearly mentioned below the signatures/thumbprint when self attesting the documents.
For children below five years, parent/guardian can fill and sign/provide thumbprint in the form and document copies. Small kids may not have any address proof; in that case submit your own address proof document copy for them.

UIDAI has prescribed mandatory certification for enrolment personnel to ensure adherence to quality aspects. The Supreme Court in its verdict declared that Aadhaar is constitutionally valid.
